Avalanches can as before be released by a single winter sport participant, in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Whumpfing sounds and natural avalanches serve as an alarm sign. Caution is to be exercised in particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for careful route selection. Medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large dry and moist avalanches are possible, especially in steep rocky terrain, and on sunny slopes. As a consequence of solar radiation, the avalanche activity will increase.

Over a wide area over a wide area 25 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Friday above approximately 1800 m. New snow and wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack, in particular on shady slopes. The high humditiy gave rise on Saturday to significant moistening of the snowpack in all aspects below approximately 2000 m.
