In sintesi

Moist and wet avalanches and gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are the main danger.

Problemi valanghivi

  • Wet snow

    • Below 2,200 m
  • Persistent weak layers

    • Above 2,200 m
  • Gliding snow

    • Below 1,800 m

Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches and gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are the main danger.

Until the temperature drops wet and gliding avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In particular on very steep slopes the avalanches can be triggered in the various wind slab layers. Caution and restraint are advisable.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and rain up to approximately 2100 m a crust formed on the surface during the last few days. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. The wind slabs are bonding poorly with the old snowpack.
