The Central Cascades zone will continue to get a dusting of snow on Friday, but not enough to lead to new storm related avalanche problems. A slick riding surface is likely to be the main hazard for Friday.

Avalanche Discussion
The snowpack is generally strong and exhibiting good structure. The snow surface throughout the region is largely covered by a rain crust that has been on the surface for over a week. Thursday saw a dusting of snow come in but not enough to soften the ride off piste.
There have been reports of near surface facets and surface hoar growing on top of the rain crust over the last few days; we will monitor this and check if faceted snow or surface hoar stick around long enough to become buried and create a weak layer as we get more snow in the future.
New snow is expected to fall on Friday, but with light winds and small snow accumulations predicted, I am not expecting wind drifted snow to create a new avalanche problem.
No recent avalanche activity has been reported.
