In sintesi

On Sunday it will still be possible to trigger a Wind Slab avalanche on steep East and Northeast slopes directly below ridgetops.  Today observers found reactive wind slabs on test slopes at treeline.   We currently have no avalanche problems below treeline.

Observers found reactive Wind Slabs on test slopes Saturday.  These avalanches will be less likely on Sunday, but still possible.  Continue to evaluate wind loaded terrain carefully if you choose to ski at treeline or in the alpine.

Avalanche Discussion

Since Thursday we've been receiving showery weather that has piled up a total of 12-20 cm. of new snow.  Most recently we have had Moderate wind from the West.  Our only avalanche problem in the last week has been Wind Slabs.  The new snow appears to be bonding well to the old snow layers from last week, and we haven't seen any persistent weak layers.
