Det er vanskelig å finne sammenhengende skiføre. Sørvendte fjellsider er bare opp til ca. 1400 moh. Nord og østvendte heng kan ha skiføre fra omtrent 1200 moh. Den snøen som finnes er preget av varme, sol og nattefrost og er både grovkornet og uten lagdeling.

Det er bare skiføre høyt til fjells i skyggevendte fjellsider. I svært bratt terreng er det mulig å løse ut mindre våte skred som kan ha store konsekvenser i terrengfeller.
