The fresh and older wind slabs can be released in isolated cases, but mostly only by large additional loads, in particular on very steep shady slopes and at elevated altitudes. Thus far hardly any moist and wet avalanches are possible as the temperature drops.

As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snowpack consolidated during the last four days.

The weather conditions fostered a substantial strengthening of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes.
