Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of unstable windslab will be deposited through the period above 800 metres with West through North aspects being most affected. Locations exposed to the wind will tend to be scoured and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight precipitation will become more showery through the day. This will fall as snow above 500 metres overnight before rising to around 1000 metres by the end of the afternoon. Strong winds will be from the South-East. Observed Weather Influences: Other than a few very light snow showers overnight, it remained dry. Strong winds from the East veered to the South-East. The freezing level was around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The main deposits of snow are found on all aspects above 800 metres. It has refrozen in the cold conditions and is hard, icy and stable. There was a very slight dusting of fresh snow, but deposits are not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
