Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases especially on very steep shady slopes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads and reach medium size.

The weather conditions gave rise to significant consolidation of the snowpack. The snowpack remains generally well bonded. On Friday it will be cold. These weather conditions will give rise to a loss of strength within the snowpack in some places in particular at intermediate and high altitudes. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep shady slopes at intermediate and high altitudes and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.
