Avalanche Activity

TO for 31.12. Fresh areas of moderately bonded windslab on S through W to N aspects above 700m. Some cross loading. Hazard Moderate.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will firm up as the freezing level lowers. Fresh isolated pockets of windslab will develop on several aspects as the wind changes direction. These moderately bonded instabilities will mainly be present on South through West to North aspects above 700 metres. Areas most affected will be steep wind sheltered terrain such as coire rims, gullies and ridge crest. There will be some cross loading and cornice growth is likely. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
