In sintesi

The likelihood triggering wet loose avalanches will increase throughout the day as the temperature warms up. Use timing and aspect to avoid steep slopes in the direct sun especially during the warmest times of the day. Remaining overhanging cornices can weaken enough to break off and send large chuncks of snow and ice tumbling down slopes below.

    Warm daytime high temperatures combined with sun exposure will cause surface snow to become wet and loose cohesion. Wet loose avalanches will become possible as the snow becomes wet and slushy to ankle deep or deeper. The likelihood for triggering one of these will increase on slopes in the direct sun especially during the warmest time of day. As you observe the surface snow becoming wet and slushy, be cautious on steep slopes especially above terrain traps. Most wet loose avalanches will be small, but long sustained slopes or features that funnel and concentrate moving snow may lead to bigger slides.

    Warm temperatures can weaken existing cornices. Avoid walking out onto a cornice and minimize the time you spend underneath them. Many overhanging cornices have already broken off, but there are still some out there hanging on.

    Cornices can be found along  ride tops hanging over north and east facing slopes.
