In sintesi

Wet Loose avalanches will be possible on Friday, but cloud cover should keep the day a bit cooler, and thus limit the potential for sizeable wet avalanches.  Pay attention to how much the surface snow is melting and avoid steep convex terrain, if the mush gets deeps.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 40 degrees F near treeline.  Although Friday looks to be mostly overcast, melting will still occurr.  If the sun does peak through in the morning, there could be some "greenhousing" with heat trapped beneath the clouds, and this would provide the greatest opportunity for Wet Loose avalanches.

Avalanche Discussion

Avalanche activity from last weekend's storm tapered off on Wednesday.  In specific locations at Tam Rim I have found poorly developed facets above the prominent rain crust down 30 cm.  Observers haven't found this layer in other areas.

Any avalanche activity on Friday would be related to the above freezing temperatures.
