Dangerous avalanche conditions. Heavy snowfall and strong northwest winds will quickly build deadly slabs at higher elevations. Use caution or simply avoid being on or near avalanche terrain. Snow totals may vary across the region, with favored areas receiving over a foot of new snow. Wind-drifted slopes will be the most dangerous as new slabs forming below ridges or the sides of cross-loaded gullies could be many feet deep. These conditions will increase the chances of avalanches failing deeper in the snowpack, which could break wider and run farther than expected.
