In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Very strong winds following yesterday's warm conditions has deposited shallow surface slabs in steep terrain that could be triggered by backcountry travelers to depths of one foot. In high elevation very steep terrain the chance persists for riders to trigger deeper slabs to depths of three feet.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A storm is to bring snow to the area starting Thursday evening and continuing through Friday morning. The storm is to bring cooler temperatures with a daytime high near twenty degrees expected. Southwest winds are to be very strong overnight with averages possibly above thirty miles per hour before veering to the west and lessening to twenty mile per hour averages during the day.The general avalanche hazard could rise to Considerable at high elevations if enough new snow and wind build new surface slabs on top of the dense to hard snow surfaces that formed today. New surface slabs will be the primary hazard although in some areas the chance to trigger recent snow to total depths of three feet may persist.
