In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. The snowpack is mostly stable. However, in isolated areas the possibility persists for larger loads, such as snow machines or groups of riders, to trigger full depth hard slabs in very steep avalanche paths. The last activity in the area involving this weak layer occurred one month ago.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Light snowfall will continue through Saturday evening, and could be heavy at times, before gradually decreasing by the morning as a flat ridge builds. Moisture overriding this ridge will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies and a chance of light, scattered flurries to the region on Sunday. Overnight lows in the mountain will be in the single digits before rising into the mid teens. Ridgetop winds will be westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate on Sunday. A slight chance may remain for large loads to trigger full depth avalanches at the upper elevations. Skiers or riders could also trigger loose snow sluffs, and isolated pockets of surface slab up to 18 inches deep, in cliff areas and near ridge crests.
