These slabs could be triggered by the weight of a person or a snowmachine. Evaluate the snow and terrain carefully and avoid areas of concern. Always travel one at a time on steep terrain.

Accumulations of six to twelve inches of snow are forecasted by Tuesday night. Winds at the ridgetops will be southwesterly at 20 to 30 miles per hour. Tuesday morning lows will be in the low teens then warm to the low 20s.The avalanche hazard will begin at Moderate in the morning and increase through the day. New snow and winds will create increasing slabs on lee slopes at upper elevations. Backcountry travelers could release slabs that will range from 10 to 30 inches in depth particularly on the steepest slopes near ridge crests at higher elevations. Warm temperatures at lower elevations may produce rain that will increase the chance of triggering wet-loose slides.
