Det ventes ytterligere påfyll av nysnø og vind fra nordvest. Det kan være lett å løse ut skred i fersk vindtransportert snø. Snøskredfaren i regionen vil variere med nysnømengde, og på de stedene som får mest kan det gå enkelte naturlig utløste skred.

Lørdag og søndag var det svært kraftig vind fra nordvest i kombinasjon med mye nedbør. Det har gitt ansamlinger av fokksnø i terreng mot sørøst. Nedbøren falt stort sett som snø ned til havnivå.

Før de siste dagene med vind og nysnø tæret et mildvær (24.-26.12.) godt på det gamle snødekket opp til omtrent 1000 moh. I lavlandet var det svært lite snø, og ved havnivå var det snøfritt.
