Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: No significant change is expected with the snowpack being firm and stable throughout. Greatest snow amounts are predominantly on North-West through North and East to Southerly aspects above 700m. Elsewhere, snow is confined to gullies and patches. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be around summit level, dropping to 800 metres towards the end of the forecasting period. Light Easterly winds initially, increasing throughout the daytime to become strong. No precipitation is expected. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry day with light to moderate Easterly winds. The freezing level was around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is firm and stable throughout.
