Avalanche Activity

Wet and gliding snow require caution.

In all aspects more medium-sized gliding avalanches and wet snow slides are possible especially in starting zones where no previous releases have taken place.

Snowpack Structure

Below approximately 1800 m a little snow is lying. In gullies and bowls at high altitude there is still a very large amount of snow. The spring-like weather conditions gave rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack. A clear night: As a consequence of low temperatures a crust will form on the surface. The surface of the snowpack will already soften in the late morning.
