At low and intermediate altitudes and at low and intermediate altitudes individual moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of the rain. Below approximately 2600 m moist avalanches can penetrate even deep layers and reach quite a large size. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released especially by large additional loads. There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. This applies especially in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
The weather conditions fostered a gradual strengthening of the snowpack. Towards its surface, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Weak layers exist in the snowpack. In the vicinity of peaks snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In places that are protected from the wind in all altitude zones a lot of snow is lying for the time of year. The rain will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack at low and intermediate altitudes.
