Avalanche Activity

In particular in the east new snow. The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.

The wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in all aspects above approximately 1600 m. At transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater. Small and medium-sized avalanches are possible. In many places there is a danger of falling on the icy crust.

Snowpack Structure

In some places wind slabs are lying on an icy crust. In addition wind slabs formed in all aspects. Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack on shady slopes.
