Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will be deposited, through redistribution, in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on South to West aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations gaining depth are not expected to be extensive. The limited old snow deposits lying mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres will remain icy, very hard and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain cold, with the freezing level rising to around 500 metres during the day. It is expected to be mainly dry, with some light showers falling as snow at most levels during the early morning. Winds are expected to be generally North-Easterly, light at first then increasing to moderate overnight. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cold mainly dry day, with just a few snow flurries at all levels. Winds were light, generally North-Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: There is a limited snowpack, with some refrozen old snow deposits present, mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. This is icy and very hard. A dusting of fresh snow is present on all aspects and at all levels. This is not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
