The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften during the day.

The snowpack will be in most cases favourable. The backcountry touring conditions in the morning, after a clear night, are spring-like.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a strong crust. In particular on sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
