Forecast Snow Stability: A superficial dusting of snow will accumulate through the day in showers on most aspects. Isolated and avoidable deposits will achieve greater depth on East to South aspects above 1000 metres, where they will contain weaknesses in wind sheltered locations, such as coire rims. Outwith these areas the older snowpack is stable, firm and disguised by a cosmetic covering of new snow. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: A generally dry day is expected with some snow showers falling above 700 metres. Snow amounts will be small with the greatest precipitation expected on the northern periphery of our area. Winds will be light to moderate in strength and mainly from the West-North-West veering to the North-North-West later. The freezing level will be at 600 metres rising to 800 metres later. Observed Weather Influences: A cold start to the day with -5 degrees Celsius recorded in Deeside this morning. Frequent snow showers, resulted in a superficial dusting above 700 metres. Winds were light and from the North-North-West. ObservedSnowStability: A light dusting of snow covers most aspects above 700 metres. This lies on bare ground and the older snowpack, which remains firm on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Softer snow accumulations from the previous days remain on South-East to South-West aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
