A mostly favourable avalanche situation will prevail. The greatest danger remains that of slipping on hard snow. We recommend bringing snow knives and crampons with you for the steeper sections. The surface of the snowpack will hardly soften at all. As the temperature drops hardly any more moist and wet avalanches are to be expected as the day progresses.

Low and intermediate altitudes and sunny slopes: The conditions are spring-like. In particular steep south, west and southeast facing slopes: Towards its surface, the snowpack is hard and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. The surface of the snowpack will hardly soften at all. Below approximately 2200 m only a little snow is lying on south and southwest facing slopes. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Also adjacent to ridgelines hardly any snow is lying. Some snow will fall in the evening along the border with France.

Especially along the border with France some new snow above approximately 1800 m: The danger will already be elevated in the early morning.
