Avalanche Summary

You can trigger large and dangerous avalanches if you find a shallow spot on a slope. Northwest to north through northeast-facing slopes near and above treeline are the most dangerous. Avoid likely trigger points, including slab margins, convex rollovers, and shallow buried rocks. In such a low-snow year, expect there to be more shallow trigger points on a slope than in other years. Multiple tracks on a slope are not an indication of stability, and triggering an avalanche from a distance or below is still possible.

To keep it simple, avoid steep avalanche terrain altogether. Stick to slopes around 30 degrees or less.
