Avalanche Summary

Very strong winds and new snow increase the avalanche danger on Tuesday . You could trigger an avalanche in new slabs of drifted snow on north, northeast, and east-facing slopes above treeline. Be on the lookout for cracking and avoid fresh, pillowy, lens-shaped drifts below ridgelines and in cross-loaded terrain features. Safer travel can be found in wind-sheltered and lower-elevation terrain, where the new snow remains unconsolidated.
