Most slopes are free from avalanches. If you were to trigger an avalanche, it would be in an area where recent winds drifted snow into firm, connected slabs over weak snow. You could find this setup on steep north, northeast, and east-facing slopes at upper elevations.
As the snowpack weakens, it will become easier to trigger loose avalanches on steep, shady, sheltered slopes. While small, these could be dangerous if they carry you into trees or a terrain trap. This problem will become more common as the drought period continues.
