In sintesi

Pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth exist in steep wind loaded starting zones and cliff areas at the upper elevations. Winds over the last several days at upper elevations have resulted in these slabs lying on a variety of aspects. Where wind loaded, these slabs could be released today by backcountry skiers, boarders, and snow machiners. Yesterday afternoon, two separate but similar slides in aspect, elevation, and proximity released on Taylor Mtn. each carrying one skier. Fortunately both skiers survived, however a skier was injured in the later slide and was rescued by Teton County Search and Rescue. At mid elevations smaller slabs lie in isolated pockets could be triggered on steep slopes. Avalanches are unlikely at low elevations today. .
