Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep upper elevation avalanche terrain. Varying winds and snow over the last few days have resulted in soft slabs up to 25 inches in depth on steep slopes that were holding old hard snow prior to this storm cycle. This old sliding layer exists at upper elevations mainly on N.W., North, N.E., and East facing slopes. The general avalanche hazard is LOW in areas where this old, hard snow layer does not exist, however steep gullies should be avoided at all elevations.
