Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche today on steep slopes near and above treeline.The most dangerous slopes will be where winds drifted recent snow into deep drifts below ridgelines and near gullies. Also, be suspicious of any steep slope where more than ten to twelve inches of new snow has fallen. New snowfall may obscure common visual clues of unstable snow. If you feel firm or hollow snow that cracks or collapses, you should move to lower-angle or wind-sheltered slopes.
