In sintesi

Mostly stable conditions are expected during the early morning hours. Warm temperatures and sunshine will soften snow surfaces and increase the avalanche hazard. Wet slides are possible on very steep slopes after significant warming occurs. Avalanche terrain should be avoided during the warmest portion of the day.

    Pockets of damp wind slab up to 18 inches in depth could be human triggered in steep avalanche starting zones. These slabs will become increasing sensitive to triggering as the day progresses and may dig down into deeper layers during the heat of the day.

    Wet loose slides are possible on very steep slopes once significant warming occurs. Wet loose slides may go to the ground on very steep slopes where the snow is isothermal and shallow.

Avalanche Discussion

Moisture and instability in the atmosphere will increase as the flow shifts to the southwest. This shift will bring clouds and an increasing chance of mountain snow showers and valley rain showers to the region. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 20s overnight and rise into the mid 30s at the summit level and into the upper 40s in the valleys. Winds will be southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the early morning hours and will increase to either MODERATE or CONSIDERABLE depending on how cold it gets overnight and how warm it gets during the day. Wets slides will become a possibility on very steep slopes after snow surfaces soften.
