In sintesi

This morning, the avalanche hazard is LOW. At the upper elevations, clear skies and daytime warming will raise the hazard to MODERATE before noon as the chance for triggering pockets of shallow wind slab increases. On sunlit aspects, this warming will also bring the possibility of wet slides involving the new snow, particularly near rock outcroppings and cliff bands.

Avalanche Discussion

Tomorrow, scatted clouds will increase mid-morning and by late afternoon, rain and snow showers are to develop . Mountain temperatures will rise to the upper thirties and valley temperatures to the low fifties. Ridge top winds will be southwesterly veering to the west at fifteen to thirty miles per hour. For Tuesday, the general avalanche hazard will be LOW below 10,500 feet. Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures should increase the stability of the new snow. At upper elevations, in wind loaded start zones six to twelve inch soft slabs lay in isolated pockets upon a mostly stable snowpack.
