In sintesi

Avalanches are unlikely, and conditions are generally safe. Convective snow showers could produce localized areas of intense snowfall. Very steep slopes should be avoided during periods of sustained intense snowfall.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )An upper level low will move through the region on Wednesday bringing periods of moderate to heavy snowfall. Overnight lows in the mountains will near 20 before rising into the upper 20s during the day. Southerly ridgetop winds will range from 10 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Wednesday. Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Skiers and riders venturing into avalanche terrain at the higher elevations might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow surface slab in steep, wind-loaded terrain. While these slides are likely to be small, they still have the potential to sweep backcountry travelers off their feet and over cliff bands or into terrain traps.
