Avalanche Activity

Over a wide area warming.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Avalanches can be released by large loads. On sunny slopes loose snow avalanches are possible as a consequence of solar radiation.

Snowpack Structure

Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
