In sintesi

In some localities increase in danger of moist avalanches.

Snowpack Structure

In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1800 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals. As a consequence of rising temperatures the snowpack will settle during the next two days. These meteorological conditions will foster a change towards better conditions on wind-loaded slopes.

Tendency

Further increase in danger of moist snow slides as a consequence of warming.

Avalanche Activity

In some localities increase in danger of moist avalanches.

Wind slabs can still be released in some cases, caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. In particular along the border with Switzerland the avalanche prone locations are more widespread. As a consequence of warming mostly small moist avalanches are possible, in particular in steep rocky terrain, and at the base of rock walls.
