CM for 1.4.22 Old snowpack frozen and stable on all apsects. Some isolated fresh windslab on E to S aspects above 900m. Aval Haz Low

Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack will remain frozen and stable throughout. Some isolated fresh windslab may develop on East to South aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations are not expected to be deep or extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight the winds will be fresh to strong Northerly, backing and easing to become light Westerly around dawn. Isolated light snow showers are expected from mid morning. The freezing level will be at glen level overnight before slowly rising during the daytime to around 500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a bright and cold day with occasional, light snow showers to all levels. The winds were fresh to strong Northerlies. ObservedSnowStability: The older patchy snowpack has refrozen and is firm and well bonded on all aspects. There is a cosmetic dusting of new snow above 900 metres. Some lower slopes softened, where exposed to the strong spring sunshine. The avalanche hazard is Low.
