Below about 6000 feet, you can trigger wet snow avalanches that can be dangerous above terrain traps. These conditions will be most common on shaded slopes where the surface snow is changing from dry to wet. They're also possible on very steep slopes where crusts have softened. Avoid being on or below slopes steeper than about 40 degrees where you find fresh rollerballs or sticky snow clumping to the bottom of your board, skis, or machine.
