In sintesi

Wet surface snow is on all aspects and elevations in the Blues.  While this is more likely to result in wet loose avalanches as evidenced by rollerballs, it could be enough weight to trigger a 1.5' thick slab. Use caution around creeks or gullies that would increase the consequences of even a small avalanche.

Avalanche Discussion

In my observation yesterday, I found relatively consistent snow heights on meadows on different aspects.  In two data points at 4800', I found very good stability in the one on the NE and 2 sudden results and propogation on the one on the SW.  The layer of concern was F+ hard small rounding facets from the gap in precipitation in late November.  These are only 2 data points, so until we get more observations, I would not want to be on any commiting terrain, especially on southerly aspects or near terrain traps.

Although rapid change (warmup and precipation) has passed, a potential lack of refreeze for tonight and tomorrow will maintain the possibility of loose wet avalanches.

Below 4500', there is hardly any snow, as shown by looking into grassy canyons.  Coverage is also very thin in the woods with stumps exposed.
