Significant snowfall and winds from south-southwest to the west continue to form very sensitive soft to hard winds slabs on a variety of aspects. Depending on location, these slabs lie upon faceted snow, hard melt-freeze crusts, or hard wind packed snow. These slabs could fail on these recently buried surfaces or on density breaks within the storm snow with depths to over three feet today. Yesterday, sensitive wind slabs were reported to be easily skier triggered at all elevation and on a variety of aspects. Watch for and avoid areas of obvious wind loading in avalanche terrain. Even treed areas and terrain that is fairly protected can have areas of unstable snow today.
