The avalanche danger is increasing today with strong northwest wind and higher density snow expected. The danger is MODERATE today with human triggered avalanches possible especially if we see the high end of anticipated snow amounts. Watch for cracking within the new snow which is a sign of instability. Use small steep "test slopes" to see if you can get the new snow to fail.

Current Conditions: Temperatures have been on the rise and are much warmer this morning than the previous mornings. Most locations are reading about 20˚F. We've had some light snow over the last 12 hours and about an inch has added up. It's starting to get windy along the more exposed peaks. As of this morning, the northwest wind isn't all that gusty in the mid and lower elevations.

Mountain Weather: We'll see periods of snow today. It will be higher density compared to the low density snow from our last storm. I'm expecting 4 to 7 inches more snow by mid day Friday. High temperatures today will be in the low 20s. It looks like it's going to get fairly windy during this storm.
