Large avalanches are unlikley, and generally stable conditions exist. You may find isolated pockets of wind-drifted snow in shady upper-elevation terrain. Steer clear of steep slopes if the surface crusts melt and you're sinking deep into a wet, mushy snowpack. 

Today is our final daily Avalanche Forecast of the season. We will issue twice-weekly General Avalanche Information products through May 1st, beginning on Monday, April 14th.

You're unlikely to trigger large avalanches today. A few things to pay attention to while you're out having fun in the hills:

• Wind Slabs: The recent heat wave "cooked" the snow on most slopes, but north-facing alpine terrain could still harbor dry snow. There, you may find small, isolated drifts in very steep terrain.
• Wet Snow: Last night, the snow surface froze solidly for the first time in several days. The stout surface crusts should remain intact on most slopes today and will make for some beyond-firm riding conditions in places. If the crusts completely melt, you could find yourself sinking into a wet, gloppy mess that resembles oatmeal. Neither Wet Loose nor Wet Slab avalanches are likely, but you can take them off the table by staying off of steep slopes where you're sinking deep into a sloppy snowpack or experiencing snowpack collapsing. 
• Cornices: Many large cornices are sagging or overhanging and deserve respect. Cornices behave unpredictably in the springtime—give them a wide berth.
