Forecast Snow Stability: The wet snow patches will diminish further overnight. They will be generally well bonded and stable, becoming firm underfoot as the freezing level lowers during the afternoon. Any new snowfall will be only trace amounts and fall mostly on bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Rainfall, overnight at all levels will ease by early morning. Some isolated and light snow showers are expected on the summits during the afternoon as the freezing level lowers to around 600 metres by the evening. Storm force Southerly winds overnight will gradually veer during the daytime to become very strong Westerlies. Observed Weather Influences: Mild and wet with rainfall at all levels. Strong South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: The limited snow cover has diminished further in the mild and wet conditions. Any remaining snow patches are generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
