Gradual decrease in danger of moist avalanches as the temperature drops. The weather conditions will facilitate a gradual change towards better conditions.
In some localities 20 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last two days. Since Thursday on steep slopes several small and medium-sized avalanches were observed. The sometimes strong wind has transported a lot of snow. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2000 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Distinct weak layers exist in the bottom section of the old snowpack in all aspects. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions a little snow is lying.

The sometimes large wind slabs of the last few days can be released easily or naturally. Avalanches can be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, in particular on steep slopes at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Until the temperature drops more frequent dry and moist avalanches are to be expected, even medium-sized ones. In the typical avalanche paths they can in isolated cases reach as far as the valley bottom. The danger of moist avalanches will already increase in the late morning.
