Forecast Snow Stability: Localised accumulations of shallow windslab will begin to form, initially on North-East to South-East aspects. Accumulations will start to achieve depth in wind sheltered locations during the afternoon, especially on East to South aspects above 900 metres. Depth and distribution will not be extensive but could be locally problematic, especially where new accumulations form over older snow-ice. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light snowfall overnight above 550 metres. Showery precipitation during the morning, then heavier snowfall above 700 metres from midday. Severe gale force Westerly winds overnight, becoming storm force during the morning, easing back to severe gale force North-Westerly during the afternoon. 500 metre freezing level overnight, rising to 750 metres by mid-afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Light snow showers arriving late morning, initially above 800 metres, altitude lowering after midday. Storm force Westerly winds first thing, easing to severe gale force later. Freezing level lowering to around 800 metres by early afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: There is a trace of new snow above 700 metres. Isolated patches of firm, old snow are present above 700 metres, especially in wind sheltered locations such as gully lines and around high corrie rims. The avalanche hazard is Low
