It was about five degrees warmer last night than the previous night. Temperatures will rise into the 30's and 40's and there will be periods of sunshine. The wet snow avalanche hazard will increase after snow surfaces soften. Monitor conditions for increasing wet snow hazards and avoid steep slopes if the snow becomes unstable. Also at the highest elevations it may still be possible to find an isolated pocket of wind slab up to a foot deep. Small slides can be dangerous in cliff areas, steep chutes, and other extreme terrain features. In those areas carefully assess the snowpack and terrain with respect to the potential consequences of being caught and carried in a small avalanche. The last scheduled avalanche hazard forecast bulletins of the season will be issued tomorrow morning.

Scattered rain and snow showers will spread into the area tonight. Snowfall will remain light through Sunday morning. Heavier snowfall will occur late Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures will be in the 20’s and 30’s in the mountains. Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour with stronger gusts.The general avalanche hazard will be low. With cooler temperatures and clouds the old snow is mostly stable. New snow avalanche hazards are expected to be minimal until later Sunday night.
