Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be quite stable. Decrease in danger of moist and wet avalanches as the temperature drops.

Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. This applies at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, and on extremely steep slopes at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of falling temperatures, the natural avalanche activity will decrease. In the morning, There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

Monday: In some localities up to 10 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 1600 m. In particular low and intermediate altitudes: The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will soften later than the day before.
