The avalanches can occur several times in the same paths.

As a consequence of new snow and warming a precarious avalanche situation will persist. New snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong southwesterly wind, avalanche prone wind slabs formed. They can be released easily and reach very large size in isolated cases. This applies in particular on steep slopes above the tree line, as well as in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. The avalanche prone locations are sometimes covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise. In many cases avalanches can be triggered in the various wind slab layers. Already many medium-sized and, in many cases, large natural dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and natural avalanches are a clear indication of a weakly bonded snowpack. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

Above approximately 1000 m there is still a very large amount of snow. Over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Tuesday above approximately 1500 m. As a consequence of the strong westerly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack.

Above approximately 700 m snow will fall until late morning over a wide area. Slight increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind.
