Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately bonded windslab will continue to build, primarily on South-East to South-West aspects, mainly above 800 metres. Greatest accumulations will be found in wind sheltered locations, gully tops and coire rims. Cornices will start to develop on these aspects. The older snow patches will remain stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: There will be snow at all levels throughout the forecast period, heaviest around dawn. Winds will be from a generally Northerly direction, strong overnight, moderate during the day. Freezing at all levels.
Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry and sunny day with frequent snow showers to low levels. Strong Northerly winds with the freezing level at 100 metres.
ObservedSnowStability: A fresh dusting of snow is now present on all aspects above 400 metres. This new snow is lying predominantly on bare ground or on the existing remaining old snow patches which can be found on North to East aspects above 800 metres. In wind sheltered locations where accumulations are greatest, moderately bonded windslab has started to develop. The avalanche hazard is Low.
