In sintesi
DANGEROUS and UNSTABLE avalanche conditions continue to exist in the Tetons. At the upper and mid elevations warm termperatures have resulted in a hardening of the snow surface, which may give a false sense of security. This hard snow surface is the top layer of slabs up to four feet in depth that lie upon a very weak layer of faceted snow and crusts. Slabs to four feet in depth continue to be easily triggered at the Jackson Hole Resort on previously uncontrolled areas on a variety of aspects. Similar, unpredictable slides could be triggered today in the backcountry by the first or fourth person on a slope. At low elevations, avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack.
