In sintesi

At the mid and high elevations, hard slabs with depths that could reach five feet lie in very steep terrain that did not slide during the last storm cycle. Initiation of these slabs is likely to require a larger trigger such as a group of skiers or a snowmobile although a single person could trigger a slide if a shallow weak point on the slope is impacted on a very steep rocky slope. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today where a mostly stable snowpack exists.

Avalanche Discussion

Thursday looks to be mostly dry although periods of light snow or flurries are possible as weak embedded disturbances are carried through the area by the generally weak flow. Mountain temperatures are to rise into the mid twenties and winds are to be northwesterly with five to fifteen mile per hour averages. The general avalanche hazard will be Moderate. The chance to trigger slab avalanches persists in very steep avalanche terrain. These slabs could reach depths of five feet in some areas and are likely to be more susceptible to larger triggers such as snow machines or groups of skiers.
